The Smart Shading System is an innovative project designed to provide relief from the extreme heat for pedestrians in Miami. Implemented at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami, this system utilizes advanced motion sensor technology to detect the presence of people and activate its 8-blade shading fan, which consists of two sets of four blades. Upon detection, the blades rotate at a constant speed, creating a shaded area and a comfortable breeze, enhancing the comfort of pedestrians. Operating during the daytime, the Smart Shading System offers immediate respite from the sun. It improves the usability of outdoor public spaces, making them more enjoyable and encouraging more people to spend time outside.
