Miami Beach Center of Architectural Arts | Integrated Studio ARC 305

Collaborators: Joao Eduardo Ribeiro & Gabriel Figueroa

Located in the heart of Miami Beach, our proposal for the Miami Beach Center of Architectural Arts aims to create a unique landmark along Lincoln road while ending the block along Alton road. The project’s developments were centered around the unique building-parti and its structural system, allowing an elevated free-standing tower to take a position against the corner of Alton and Lincoln. Consisting of 22,500 sq.ft of indoor space, this 4-level project maintains its vertical and horizontal corridors aligned to maximize the potential space for the center’s occupants. The primary programs of the project are the Architecture Research Library housed on the third floor with its adjacent balconies to create outdoor reading spaces and an art gallery housed on the second floor to display rotating collections of renowned architects. The building’s facade is made of tilework with patterned tiles borrowed from Gio Ponti’s collection, arranged in a pattern creating waves along the tile.
